Insane Clown Posse, one of the most notorious rap groups in history, will make its Victoria debut this summer.
The Detroit band’s first Canadian tour in over a decade gets underway June 24 in Quebec. The 17-stop tour comes to a close July 17 in Victoria, where Insane Clown Posse will make its first Vancouver Island appearance at Distrikt nightclub.
The news is being met with waves of publicity by its large and dedicated group of followers, known as Juggalos. The duo had previously been unable to cross the border into Canada due to the criminal records of its members, Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope. In 2011, the FBI classified Juggalos as a “loosely organized hybrid gang,” which the Insane Clown Posse vehemently denied.
The duo’s hugely popular annual festival, the Gathering of the Juggalos, is set for July 20-23 in Thornville, Ohio, just days after their Victoria debut.
Ticket information has not yet been released, but the Victoria performance is expected to sell out immediately once tickets are available.
