A medical emergency on a Thursday morning ferry out of Tsawwassen led the vessel to return to port for medical treatment.
The 10 a.m. Queen of New Westminster was on its way to Swartz Bay when a passenger experienced a medical issue about 20 minutes from Tsawwassen.
Because the ferry was close to Tsawwassen, the ship was turned around so the passenger could receive medical attention on shore.
The incident resulted in the ferry running about one hour behind schedule, said Deborah Marshall, B.C. Ferries spokesperson.
No details on the nature of the medical emergency were released.
