A recreational-vehicle fire backed up rush-hour traffic in Vic West Tuesday morning.
Roads were temporarily closed after the RV burst into flames in the 900-block of Catherine Street at Skinner Street, said Victoria police.
Resident Tim McKay said the fire broke out just before 7:30 a.m. near trees and power lines. Firefighters and ambulance paramedics were on the scene, including an advanced life support unit.
B.C. Emergency Health Services said it received a call of a motor vehicle incident at the intersection of Catherine Street and Skinner Street in Victoria at 7:26 a.m. Tuesday and responded with two ambulances, but paramedics “did not care for or transport any patients to hospital.”
Victoria police said the investigation was ongoing Tuesday and they could not comment on whether anyone was in the vehicle at the time of the blaze.
Roads reopened at 8:25 a.m., said police.
