The body of a Langford teen missing since New Year’s Day has been found in Goldstream Provincial Park.

West Shore RCMP said search-and-rescue volunteers from Metchosin and Juan de Fuca made the discovery Saturday evening during a sweep of the park.

Andre Courtemanche, 16, was last seen Jan. 1 by his parents. Extensive searches of the area between Victoria and Shawnigan Lake were undertaken when Courtemanche, a student at the Westshore Centre for Learning and Training, did not return home following an argument with his parents last week.

He did not have a phone with him at the time of his disappearance.

West Shore RCMP said in statement Saturday that they do not suspect foul play, and that the cause of death is under investigation by police and the B.C. Coroners Service.

Parents Glenn and Denise Courtemanche have said they do not wish to speak to media at this time, according to Const. Nancy Saggar, media relations officer for West Shore RCMP.
