The Northern Sea Wolf ferry left the port of Piraeus in Athens, Greece, on Friday to start its 10,097-nautical-mile trip to its new home in B.C.
The route will take the $12.6-million B.C. Ferries vessel across the Atlantic Ocean and through the Panama Canal.
It was launched 17 years ago and will go through an extensive upgrade at a B.C. shipyard before going into service on the Port Hardy-Bella Coola route, which is being restored in 2018.
