RCMP divers recovered a body from Thetis Lake on Tuesday. West Shore RCMP asked about 11:10 a.m. that the Capital Regional District close the main beach at Thetis Lake Regional Park as they conducted a search.
Police have not yet confirmed the identity of the person found.
Last week, the search for missing Debra Evans-Hayes focused on the Thetis Lake area, where a command post was set up. Her body has now been located, but no official connection has been made to the body found Tuesday.
West Shore RCMP said that no criminality is involved in the Evans-Hayes case and it is now in the hands of the B.C. Coroners Service.
