B.C. election 2024: Who's running on Vancouver Island?

B.C.’s next election is scheduled for Oct. 19, 2024, when candidates will be vying for the vote in 93 ridings across the province.

Six new ridings have been created since the last election in 2020, including one on Vancouver Island, which will have 15 electoral areas. Several ridings have been renamed and had their boundaries changed as part of the redistribution.

Standings in the current 87-seat B.C. legislature are:

• 55 B.C. NDP
• 26 B.C. United
• Two B.C. Greens
• Two B.C. Conservatives
• Two Independents

Here are the candidates who have said they are running in Vancouver Island ridings in the Oct. 19, 2024, provincial election.

Candidates who have submitted their nomination forms to Elections BC are marked with an asterisk (*).  The nomination deadline is Sept. 28, 2024.

Candidates are listed in alphabetical order by last name, and ridings are ordered from north to south.

This list was last updated on Sept. 13, 2024. The status of the BC United candidates is unknown after the party announced it was folding its campaign. It has said it will run a "limited" number of candidates in select ridings.
