A male cyclist who robbed a man at knife-point in a Langford parking lot is the subject of a West Shore RCMP search.
Just after noon on Monday, a man was walking toward the Real Canadian Superstore, near the Original Joe’s restaurant and bar at West Shore Town Centre, 2955 Phipps Rd., when a male on a low-riding BMX-type bike held out a knife and demanded that the victim hand over his wallet.
The man, described as having blonde hair and being in his 20s, rode off toward Langford Parkway, said police.
The victim was not physically injured.
West Shore RCMP media relations officer Nancy Saggar said police attended right away, but were unable to locate the suspect.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian male with a slim build, about 5’10 or 5’11” in height and wearing a grey hoodie.
Police are also investigating a similar incident that took place on Aug. 30 at 11 p.m. A suspect of the same description attempted to rob another male walking near the 700 block of Peat Road in Langford, said Saggar, who noted the second report was not received until Aug. 31.
The police are reminding the public to call police as soon as possible if they witness a crime.
Anyone with information about the incidents is asked to contact the West Shore RCMP by calling 250-474-2264. To report anonymously through Crime Stoppers, call 1800-222-8477.
