Police, RCMP dive team search for clues in disappearance of Vancouver woman

The Vancouver police and an RCMP dive team wereat New Brighton Park Saturday to search for clues in the disappearance of Su Yi Liang.

Thirty-seven-year-old Su Yi Liang of Vancouver was reported missing to police on Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018, after she failed to pick up her children from school.

The Vancouver police and an RCMP dive team wereat New Brighton Park Saturday to search for clues in the disappearance of Su Yi Liang.

Police say the 37-year-old missing Vancouver woman was spotted at the park on Vancouver harbour on the day she disappeared, but they do not believe she was driving.

VPD Const. Jason Doucette said the RCMP dive team is equipped with specialized training and equipment to help locate and recover evidence in the water. He added that police will be at the park through the weekend.

Liang was last seen Jan. 8, but was reported missing Jan. 10 by her father, after she failed to pick up her children at school.

Vancouver police found her car, a grey electric 2014 BMW i3, parked at the Rupert Pitch and Putt on Jan. 11.
