The Insurance Corporation of British Columbia is reviewing an arbitrator's decision that finds the auto insurer benefited from unpaid overtime to its office employees. Local 378 of the Canadian Office and Professional Employees union launched the grievance and described the arbitrator's decision as huge. While ICBC said the corporation doesn't expect people to work without pay, COPE representative Jamie Zygmunt says employees feel compelled to work extra time because the corporation is so short-staffed. But a government review this month criticized ICBC for having too many managers who are overpaid.
