Ian Irvine has been hired as chief financial officer and director of financial services for the Township of Esquimalt. He starts the position, which has been vacant since March, on Sept. 10. Irvine most recently worked for Thrifty Foods as finance manager and previously held analyst and auditor positions with the Atco Group, and Deloitte & Touche LLP, both based in Calgary. From 2001 to 2005, Irvine was based in Victoria as a financial and performance auditor for the province's Office of the Auditor General.
