Villa Madrona in North Saanich is back on the market for nearly double its selling price last year.

The two-acre waterfront property on Lands End Road is listed at $11 million. It sold in late 2013 for $6.6 million, after spending eight years on the market. The unique property’s price varied as market conditions changed. At one time, it was listed for $19.25 million, but had dropped to $6.9 million prior to its sale.

Villa Madrona was originally built for Linda and Ralph Bodine and their family. Among its many features are fountains, a library interior from England, oak pilasters once in a Vanderbilt mansion and an enclosed swimming pool.

Last month, 26 single-family properties and three condominiums were sold for more than $1 million, the Victoria Real Estate Board said Wednesday.

Villa Madrona is not the highest-priced property in the capital region on the Multiple Listing Service. An Uplands waterfront house is listed for $16.9 million and another property in North Saanich is listed at $11.9 million.
