Pacific Coastal Airline is offering a new non-stop route between Victoria and Kamloops.
From Oct. 17 until April 26 of next year, the airline will offer direct one-hour flights between Victoria International Airport and Kamloops Airport on a 19-seat turboprop aircraft, the Beechcraft 1900.
Flights are scheduled to depart from Sunday to Friday at 3:40 p.m. from Victoria and 5:05 p.m. from Kamloops.
Geoff Dickson, president and CEO of the Victoria Airport Authority, said in a statement that the new flights offer an opportunity for “Vancouver Islanders to explore the Kamloops region and for visitors to Victoria to experience all that it has to offer,” he said.
As part of the launch, Pacific Coastal Airlines is offering a 20 per cent discount on the route.
Jonathan Richardson, the airline’s vice president of customer and commercial, said while the initial service to Kamloops is planned as a seasonal winter route, the company could extend to year-round service if demand warrants.
