Union plans B.C. walkouts

The B.C. Government and Service Employees' Union has scheduled another one-day walkout for selected workers around the province.

The B.C. Government and Service Employees' Union has scheduled another one-day walkout for selected workers around the province.

Staff at Ministry of Forests offices in Prince George, Cranbrook, Nelson, Dawson Creek and Burns Lake will walk out during office hours on Monday. More than 460 employees are affected.

Similar 24-hour strikes were staged at specific government operations on July 3 and on Aug. 7.

The union says negotiations have stalled and wages remain the main issue. The last contract for 25,000 union members expired at the end of March.
