Country star Nate Smith will perform in Victoria for the first time next year, thanks to an extended tour to support his second album, California Gold.

Smith, 39, will visit the Royal Theatre on April 9 as part of his Through the Smoke Tour, which has been extended into 2025 after being scheduled to wrap Dec. 5 in Nashville.

The singer from Paradise, California, has earned two No. 1 singles on U.S. country radio, including two — Whiskey on You and World on Fire — from his most recent recording. He also released two versions of his hit Bulletproof, one of which is a duet with Avril Lavigne.

Tickets to Smith’s upcoming performance go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through the Royal McPherson box office (250-386-6121) and rmts.bc.ca. A pre-sale through livenation.com goes live at 10 a.m. on Thursday.
