Kick-Ass 2 will muscle its way into theatres on June 28, 2013, Universal said.
Aaron Johnson, Chloë Grace Moretz and Christopher Mintz-Plasse will reprise their roles in the new film, but original director Matthew Vaughn will just produce this time. Jeff Wadlow (Never Back Down) will write and direct Kick-Ass 2.
Universal is also shifting around the release dates of many of its major films, including the 3D rerelease of Jurassic Park, the Keanu Reeves martial arts adventure 47 Ronin, the Jason Bateman comedy Identity Thief and the supernatural thriller R.I.P.D.
The studio also said that About Time, a romantic comedy from director Richard Curtis, will première on May 10, 2013.
2 Guns, an action film starring Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg, will debut on Aug. 16, 2013.
