Ontario rockers The Strumbellas have postponed their upcoming 19-date national tour, including their appearance set for Thursday at the Royal Theatre.
The group, whose song, Spirits, won the Juno Award for single of the year in 2017, announced the postponement Monday, citing circumstances beyond their control that were attributed to a band member’s health. The tour with opening act Neon Dreams was scheduled to start Thursday in Victoria, followed by dates Friday and Saturday at Vancouver’s Commodore Ballroom.
“We’ve been looking forward to this tour across Canada for a long time,” band member Dave Ritter said in a statement. “As a band, we’re working on getting back to full strength and focused on getting out on the road to be with you guys as soon as we can.”
MRG Concerts is currently working on a re-scheduled date for Victoria, according to the promoter. Tickets will be honoured for the new date. Refunds are also available from the Royal McPherson box office.
