Two Sooke parks will be closed for a day this month for the filming of at least one episode of a “popular TV series,” the District of Sooke said.
The name of the series was not revealed.
On April 29, film crews will be at Ed MacGregor Park, the Rotary Pier and Sooke Marine Boardwalk between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. and at Whiffin Spit from 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. There will be no public access to the parks and their parking lots during production, a District of Sooke statement said.
Sooke’s other waterfront park spaces, including Ella Beach and Billings Spit, will be open to the public during the one-day closure, it said.
Crews are also expected to be filming with handheld cameras and drones on April 28.
The public can expect to see filming in areas throughout Sooke, said the district, adding it’s been working closely with the production company to balance production needs with community impact.
The film industry enhances the local economy and supports local businesses, it said.
