Vancouver-raised rocker Bryan Adams is coming back to Victoria for the first time in five years.
Adams, 63, will perform Sept. 9 at the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre as part of the ongoing tour to support So Happy it Hurts, his 15th studio album. Though a support act for his Victoria concert has not yet been announced, veteran performer Joan Jett is currently opening dates on Adams’s in-progress North American tour.
Tickets to the Victoria show are expected to sell-out quickly: Not only are performances of any kind at the Blanshard Street arena rare these days — Adams’s upcoming concert is just one of two music events on the venue’s 2023 calendar — the Summer of 69 hitmaker is one of the biggest stars Canada has ever produced. His robust career totals include five No. 1 albums in Canada, 63 Juno Award nominations, and nearly 100 million records sold worldwide.
Adams last performed at the arena in 2018, delivering a two-hour performance that drew a rare five-star review in the Times Colonist.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 16 through selectyourtickets.com. They are also available at the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre box office (1925 Blanshard St.) or by phone from 250-220-7777.
