A trio of Victoria parks will come to life with dance-happy revellers this weekend for the ninth annual Wonderment Festival, a popular electronic music festival staged by the Garden City Electronic Music Society.

Wonderment kicks off Friday at the Victoria Event Centre, which will operate for three nights of programming as the festival’s lone ticketed venue. The remainder of Wonderment — including events held at Songhees Park Plaza (on Saturday), Cameron Bandshell (Sunday), and Banfield Park (Monday) — is free of charge, which is impressive given the roster of performers assembled for the event.

There’s a mixture of established veterans and promising newcomers on stage throughout the festival’s four days of activity, ranging from local favourites Hrdvsion, Koosh, Danuel Tate, The Mole, and Righteous Rainbows of Togetherness to internationals Mixmaster Morris, Thomas Melchior and Synkro. Food and beverages will not be for sale at the outdoor events, so organizers are asking festivalgoers to pack out what they pack in.
