Are the Duke and Duchess of Sussex now fans of the Vancouver Canucks?
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were at Rogers Arena in Vancouver on Monday night to take in a game between the Canucks and the San Jose Sharks. Prince Harry even dropped the puck for the ceremonial faceoff between Tomas Hertl and Quinn Hughes as they announced a partnership between Rogers Arena and his Invictus Games in 2025.
Prince Harry's visit to watch a game between the Canucks and Sharks came 21 years after his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, did the same in 2002. She dropped the puck for a ceremonial faceoff in a preseason tilt between the two Pacific rivals, albeit with considerably more pomp and circumstance.
While the Queen only stuck around for the first period of that game, Prince Harry and Meghan stuck around for the whole game and got to witness a solid 3-1 win for the home team. They clearly got into the game as well, with Prince Harry leaping to his feet and roaring in approval when Canucks centre J.T. Miller scored the third Canucks goal midway through the third period.
Meghan Markle also seemed to enjoy the Canucks' goal song, "Don't You (Forget About Me)" by Simple Minds.
