Dress your children in dark tops if you intend to take them to the Bountiful Berries guided walk this afternoon.

Dress your children in dark tops if you intend to take them to the Bountiful Berries guided walk this afternoon.

Put on by CRD Parks, the walk, suitable for children five and older, will take people on the trail of the different berries in local woods.

Expect to see and sample blackberries (hence the dark tops), Oregon grape berries, salal berries and others with the help of a park naturalist. Participants will also have the opportunity to taste jams made from these natural delights.

The walk is free and runs from 1 to 2: 30 p.m. today at Elk/Beaver Lake Regional Park. Meet at the Beaver Lake nature centre at the main Beaver Lake parking lot. Parking is free. The park is served by B.C. Transit No. 70 and No. 75 routes.
