CHILDREN'S THEATRE

What: Pan

Where: McPherson Playhouse

When: Nov. 24 to Dec. 1

Tickets: $25.75 and $20 (250-386-6121)

Why: In these cash-strapped times, how many plays do you see boasting a cast of 41? Kaleidoscope Theatre artistic director Roderick Glanville has reimagined J.M. CULTURE

What: PechaKucha Night

When: Tonight, 7: 30-11: 30 p.m.

Where: Victoria Event Centre

Tickets: $12

Why: Drawn from the Japanese term for "chit-chat," PechaKucha began as a way for young designers in Tokyo to meet and share their work.

Presenters show 20 images for 20 seconds each, making for fast-paced learning and entertainment. Nearly a decade later, the concept has spread across the globe to 581 cities. The 11th volume in Victoria features designer Jenny Ambrose, theatre-maker Matthew Payne, "musical wunderkind" Aidan Knight, MetaLab founder Andrew Wilkinson, photographers Bryan Van Wyk and Iain Russell, CBC Radio's Khalil Akhtar, "fun maker" Mike Roma and filmmaker Bryan Skinner.
