Celebrate 30 years of arts, crafts, food and music at the Filberg Festival in Comox this long weekend.

Organizers say the festival is one of the longest-running and largest juried outdoor arts shows in Western Canada.

The festival is a family-friendly event featuring four days of arts and entertainment.

There will be up to 100 artisans showcasing works in ceramics and pottery, clothing and textiles, glass, jewelry, leather, metal, photography, sculpture, wood, soaps and lotions. The crafts booths are nestled in the gardens and among the trees throughout Filberg Park.

Other people go to the festival for the music. This year performers include Babe Gurr, Dave Harris, David Gogo, David Vest, the Flora Scott Trio and Gary Fjellgaard among others.

For the first time, Filberg Lodge will be open to the public, with guided tours of the 1929 heritage home. The distinctive arts-and-crafts residence was hand-built by local master craftsmen and features extensive use of local materials. Money raised from the festival goes toward the maintenance, operation and restoration of the lodge and park. The Filberg Gardens are open to the public all year round.

Daily admission is $15 (children 12 and under free). A festival pass for four days costs $40. The festival runs 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday to Sunday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday at Filberg Lodge and Park, 61 Filberg Rd. in Comox.
