Funky, painted shoes will dangle from doorways around James Bay this weekend, when local artists open their doors to the public. The eighth annual James Bay Art Walk features 16 artists, whose venues will be marked by the colourful footwear.

Funky, painted shoes will dangle from doorways around James Bay this weekend, when local artists open their doors to the public.

The eighth annual James Bay Art Walk features 16 artists, whose venues will be marked by the colourful footwear. Doors are open between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The self-guided tour is an opportunity to meet the artists, check out their work and buy original art as well as prints and cards.

Brochures and maps illustrating the studio locations are available at Serious Coffee James Bay, James Bay Community School Centre, Emily Carr House and James Bay Coffee and Books.

Participating artists are: Janice Beiles, Ken Crassweller, Donna Eichel, Jim Gerwing, Martine Gow-Cooper, Anne Hansen, Aileen Headen, David Ladmore, Laurie Ladmore, Deborah McCarron, Nancy Murphy, Avril Nolan, Paul Peregal, Roberta Pyx Sutherland, Daniel Sali and Elaine White.
