Bring light to the dark world of cancer at the Light the Night Walk on Saturday.

Thousands of walkers across Canada will carry illuminated balloons for an evening walk to raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada.

The event is to support and bring hope to people battling blood cancers.

Even the balloons' colour has significance: White is for survivors, red for supporters and gold is carried in memory of those no longer with us.

The five-kilometre walk is at a leisurely pace and takes less than an hour to complete. Strollers and walkers are welcome.

Registration begins at 5: 30 p.m. Programs start at 6: 30 and the walk begins at 7 p.m. Meet at parking lot 10 at the University of Victoria, 3800 Finnerty Rd. Call Veronica at 2505807919.
