Join the celebrations as the Sooke branch of the Vancouver Island Regional Library has its grand opening on Saturday.
The event kicks off at 2 p.m. with a blessing by T’Sou-ke elder Shirley Alphonse.
There will be a live raptor show with North West Raptors, a reading by Teoni Spathelfer of the Heiltsuk Nation, as well as face painting, snacks, refreshments, library tours and special guests.
The branch has been open to the public since Feb. 25.
Admission is free. The grand opening celebrations run until 4 p.m. at 6671 Wadams Way, Sooke.
