The Island Sexual Health Society is a non-profit agency that has served the Greater Victoria, Vancouver Island and Gulf Islands communities since 1969. ISHS was formerly a part of Planned Parenthood and became an independent society in 1986.
Through their sexual health clinics and education programs, Island Sexual Health Society is working toward a diverse community that celebrates healthy sexuality throughout life.
Currently, ISHS is seeking a doctor's assistant for their Fort Street location to support female clients and assist doctors during exams, as well as helping to maintain exam rooms. This is a long-term commitment with a minimum of six months; shifts are 3.5 hours, and volunteers may commit to either a weekly or bi-weekly schedule. Training will be provided, and volunteers will receive references at the end of their term.
