B.C. Ferries is reworking sailing schedules on three of its routes because it expects continuing staff shortages in the coming months and is aiming to provide reliable service.

Between Jan. 28 and Feb. 28, the Departure Bay (Nanaimo) to Horseshoe Bay, Horseshoe Bay to Langdale, and Earl’s Cove to Saltery Bay routes will be affected.

The total number of round trips will not change, B.C. Ferries said Thursday.

Customers with bookings on affected sailings between Horseshoe Bay and Departure Bay will see their bookings moved to the next available sailing.

Those with bookings on sailings between Horseshoe Bay and Langdale will have their bookings moved to the new departure time.

“Our team is working hard to process these schedule changes and is contacting customers chronologically as quickly as we are able,” the company said.

Customers with affected bookings who want to change or rebook can call the customer service centre at 1-888-223-3779 at extension zero.

B.C. Ferries has been struggling with crew shortages for several months.
