B.C. Parks has built 33 new campsites at China Beach Campground in Juan de Fuca Park and is planning for 13 more.
The 33 new sites include 22 drive-in sites and 11 walk-in. They are available for reservations starting on Thursday.
This fall, the province said, two new shower and flush-toilet buildings will be built at the China Beach Campground, along with 13 more walk-in campsites. which will be accessible for the 2025 camping season.
B.C. Parks said the expansion will allow more people to get outside and enjoy nature.
It also announced eight new walk-in campsites available this year at Little Qualicum Campground, west of Parksville.
