B.C. Transit buses are getting a splash of green, part of a new design the corporation says fits its commitment to climate-friendly public-transit options.

The new green livery — including colours, logos and graphics — is expected to roll out this fall on eight new heavy-duty buses and 81 light-duty models across the province.

“The new green look expresses B.C. Transit’s commitment to reducing its environmental impact and encouraging people to take public transit,” the corporation said in a statement.

The new look is the first major change to the appearance of the bus fleet in 17 years. All new B.C. Transit vehicles will feature the design, it says, including electric buses due to start arriving in early 2025.

The existing fleet will keep its current designs until the buses are retired, B.C. Transit said.
