RCMP are investigating after the body of a missing 26-year-old man was found in the waters off Cowichan Bay.

Although there are no suspicions of criminality so far, North Cowichan-Duncan RCMP say they are looking into the circumstances of the man’s death and what he did in the days before he died.

The man was last seen on Monday and reported missing on Wednesday, police said Friday.

His body was discovered about 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, after a land and water search that involved RCMP police dog services, the RCMP West Coast Marine Unit, an RCMP helicopter and Marine Search and Rescue.

The man’s name has not been released.

Anyone with information is asked to contact RCMP at 250-748-5522.
