The body of a missing 49-year-old man has been found, Lake Cowichan RCMP said Sunday.

The man was reported missing on Oct. 29 but had not been seen since February.

His vehicle was discovered Oct. 24 by a passerby on a logging road about an hour from Bamfield, Cpl. Alex Bérubé, RCMP media liaison officer for the Island Division, said at the time.

“Police then started making inquiries, which led to the determination that he was missing,” Bérubé said.

RCMP said Sunday that the death is not considered suspicious.

The B.C. Coroners Service has been notified and is also investigating the man’s death.

No further information will be released at this time, police said.
