Camosun College has reached a tentative agreement with the Camosun College Faculty Association under the provincial shared recovery mandate.

The agreement covers about 800 faculty members, whose association is part of the Federation of Post-Secondary Educators of B.C.

Details of the agreement won’t be available until the ratification process is complete.

The shared recovery mandate covers collective agreements that ended on or after Dec. 31, 2021 and includes a minimum cost-of-living adjustment of 5.5 per cent and a maximum of 6.75 per cent.

More than 520,000 people work in B.C.’s public sector at Crown corporations and in health, community social services, kindergarten-to-Grade 12 public education, and post-secondary institutions and research universities.

About 404,000 of them are unionized employees paid under collective agreements, or professionals paid through negotiated compensation agreements.
