The Coho vehicle ferry was pulled from service Wednesday afternoon after the vessel had trouble with one of its engines. It’s expected to return to service on Friday.
Black Ball Ferry president Ryan Burles said the ferry was able to sail in the morning but the afternoon sailings Wednesday had to be cancelled due to a faulty turbo on one of the engines.
Burles said the vessel, which travels between Victoria and Port Angeles, will be repaired in the Washington port over the next two days.
The passenger ferry service operated by FRS Clipper between Victoria and Seattle will return to service Thursday after a winter dry-dock maintenance period.
The vessel will run Thursday through Monday until April 3. On April 6, it will start daily service to handle the expected rush of passengers heading into peak season.
