Comox Valley RCMP are asking for the public’s help after receiving two reports Tuesday of a woman in distress in a grey sedan.
Around 3:15 p.m., a caller reported seeing a vehicle in the area of Lockwell Road and Fraser Road in Courtenay. The person told police they saw a woman inside who was crying and asking for help. She may have been trying to get out of the vehicle, police said.
A second call came in around the same time. That caller also described a woman in the front passenger seat of a vehicle who appeared to be in distress.
“The observations of these two callers might not be anything untoward; however, after two calls of a similar nature, our level of concern is such that we would like to locate the vehicle as soon as possible so we can confirm this woman is all right,” said Const. Monika Terragni, spokeswoman for the Comox Valley RCMP.
The vehicle is described as a grey Chrysler sedan, approximately five to seven years old. It might be a 300 or 500 model, and has a B.C. licence plate similar to MT7611.
The woman was described as white and possibly in her 30s with long dark hair.
The driver was described as a white man in his 40s, possibly wearing glasses.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Comox Valley RCMP immediately at 250-338-1321. Anyone who sees a vehicle matching the above description with someone who still appears to be in distress is asked to call 911.
