A COVID-19 case has been confirmed at a school in Parksville.
The Qualicum school district reported Sunday that an individual at PASS-Woodwinds Alternate School tested positive for the virus. They last attended the school on Friday.
Island Health was in the process of identifying anyone who needs to self-isolate or monitor for COVID-19 symptoms, the school district said in a news release. All contract tracing was expected to be completed by day’s end.
Everyone else is expected to attend school and monitor for symptoms unless they receive a call from public health officials advising them to self-isolate.
Shawnigan Lake School announced Friday that a non-teaching member of its staff had tested positive for the virus.
