A new general manager has been announced for the Capital Regional District’s Integrated Water Services.

Alicia Fraser comes to the position from the Ontario Clean Water Agency, where she was president and chief executive. She will assume her new role on July 24.

The job became vacant when former general manager, Ted Robbins, was appointed as the CRD’s chief administrative officer in November.

Fraser was chosen after a national search.

“Ms. Fraser’s extensive background of experience and her dedication to her profession make her an exceptional candidate and she will be a terrific addition to our leadership team,” said CRD board chair Colin Plant.

Integrated Water Services is responsible for both water and wastewater services in the region.

Fraser will be working with the Regional Water Commission and the CRD board on delivering the Regional Water Supply Master Plan, and will also support water and wastewater commissions around the capital region.

“I am honoured to have been selected for this role and thrilled to be joining the CRD,” Fraser said.
