Recycle B.C., the company responsible for residential paper and packaging recycling in the province, said curbside collection of glass materials can resume in the capital region on Monday as part of a phased restart plan.
Transportation and processing options for glass were hit hard by flooding and road closures across southern B.C. and were temporarily suspended on Nov. 22.
The Capital Regional District said it appreciates the public’s co-operation in storing glass at home during this short-term suspension. Now that collection can resume, there is no limit to the amount of material that can be put at the curb.
Residents are reminded that glass must be separated from other recyclable materials. Metal and plastic lids must be taken off and can be recycled with mixed containers.
