A driver who didn’t have a licence or vehicle insurance found out the hard way it’s a costly gamble to drive.
West Shore RCMP’s traffic unit pulled over a vehicle on the weekend and discovered its insurance had been expired since 2020 and the driver did not have a licence.
The driver was given fines including a no-insurance ticket for $598 and $276 for not having a licence, along with an unlicensed-driver prohibition for repeat unlicensed-driving offences.
The vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, which will also cost the driver hundreds of dollars in towing and impound fees.
