Evening ferry sailings between Swartz Bay and Tsawwassen will run as scheduled, B.C. Ferries says.
The 8 p.m. sailing from Swartz Bay and the 10 p.m. from Tsawwassen were at risk of being cancelled due to lack of crew, but B.C. Ferries said at 3:50 p.m. that the staffing shortage had been resolved.
The company said the decision to cancel a sailing is made when all options to find replacement staff have been exhausted.
“We require a specific number of staff members on board the vessel to ensure the safety of our passengers in the unlikely event of an emergency and to comply with Transport Canada regulations,” B.C. Ferries said.
