Firefighters had a snowy call Tuesday morning in North Saanich. NORTH SAANICH VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT

Firefighters braved the snowfall early Tuesday as they doused a workshop fire on Tatlow Road in North Saanich.

The North Saanich Fire Department was alerted about 2 a.m. and was joined by mutual-aid partners from Sidney and Central Saanich.

North Saanich Fire Chief John Trelford said the department happened to have volunteers at both of its fire halls staying the night in case the forecast snow caused problems.

“We’ve done this with snowstorms in the past,” he said.

Trelford said no cause or damage estimate have been determined, and no one was injured.

Visibility was difficult for the firefighters because of the heavy snowfall at the time, he said.
