Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for parts of Vancouver Island, warning there is a risk of freezing rain and difficult driving conditions in many spots.
Another clear and cold night will bring sub-zero temperatures to parts of the Island, including the Malahat between Goldstream Provincial Park and Mill Bay.
The weather statement calls for drizzle, which could mean freezing rain Tuesday afternoon through to the evening. That could lead to slippery surfaces and difficult driving conditions.
Warmer surface conditions are expected to spread through the region by early Wednesday morning, however it is possible that freezing rain may linger for some areas.
The same is expected from Gold River through to Port Alberni and Lake Cowichan as well as along the Trans-Canada Highway corridor between Mill Bay and the Comox Valley.
Environment Canada says any freezing rain should transition to rain overnight Tuesday.
