Residents of Protection Island near Nanaimo — where many use golf carts to get around — seem to have been subjected to an unusual prank.

Nanaimo RCMP were called by a resident who said their golf cart had been taken from their driveway — and replaced with another one.

It was further reported that eight other carts had been similarly taken from homes and parked at other locations.

The caller was quick to say there wasn’t a serial golf-cart thief in the area, police said.
