A newly released guide promises help in navigating the Greater Victoria School Board’s crowded slate of candidates for trustee in the Oct. 15 municipal election.
With 30 candidates vying for nine spots on its board, the Greater Victoria School District has produced an online tool to provide details about the candidates. The goal is to give out candidate information in a single document.
Tracy Humphreys, president of the Victoria Confederation of Parent Advisory Councils, said she has never seen this many candidates for a board election in the district.
Also new is an election video led by students that was produced in an effort to increase voter engagement and raise awareness of what school trustees do.
