Victoria police detectives are seeking the public’s help in locating a 53-year-old woman who was reported missing in early July.
Police have been investigating the disappearance of Brenda Irwin in the weeks since, and have now decided to go public with the case after exhausting many leads.
Irwin has some mental-health issues and doctors would like to get her back to the hospital for treatment. She was reported to have last been seen July 3 at Royal Jubilee Hospital, although a person who knows her well said she spotted Irwin in the middle of the month.
Officers are trying to confirm that sighting, and are also looking into the possibility Irwin purchased a bus ticket on or around July 2 for an out-of-town destination.
She is described as five-foot-10 with a heavy build and shoulder-length brown, and might have had black luggage with her.
Anyone with information about Irwin is asked to call Victoria police on their non-emergency line at 250-995-7654 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
