The Canada Post work stoppage isn’t slowing the flow of money into the Times Colonist Christmas Fund. By Tuesday afternoon, the total had reached $155,713, from 363 donors.
As you’ve surely read more than once this year, and possibly hundreds of times since the fund was created in 1956, this fundraising effort helps you to help those in need.
With your help, we raise money that is put to work in the community to make life better for all, at Christmas and all year long.
The Times Colonist Christmas Fund Society works with volunteers from the local chapter of the Sovereign Order of St. John of Jerusalem, Knights Hospitaller, to distribute money to dozens of community organizations.
Those volunteers have researched the organizations to determine where the money can do the most good.
While the postal disruption continues, there are still ways to get the money to us.
• Go to the Times Colonist Christmas Fund web page, tcchristmasfund.com, which links to CanadaHelps. That site, which handles online donations, is open 24 hours a day and provides an immediate tax receipt.
• You could drop off a cheque, made out to the Times Colonist Christmas Fund, at the Times Colonist office, 201-655 Tyee Rd. in Vic West.
• Or, you can use your credit card by phoning 250-995-4438 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Thanks again for your support.
