Images released of skateboarder alleged to have hit Uptown employee in face

Surveillance images of a man alleged to have hit an Uptown store employee in the face with a skateboard have been released in hopes of identifying the suspect.

The assault left the victim needing stitches and dental work.

Security staff in the Uptown store had noticed the individual skateboarding around the business, grabbing things off the shelves and trying to conceal them, Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers said on its Facebook page.

A staff member approached and was hit in the face with the skateboard.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or go to victoriacrimestoppers.ca to submit a tip online.
