A mechanical issue at the Island Farms plant that led to a temporary shortage of Island Farms and Natrel milk products has been resolved, the company says.

Island Farms milk products were in short supply in some capital region grocery stores over the weekend.

In a statement, Agropur, which owns the two companies, said the company experienced a malfunction with the plant’s milk separator, but repairs were completed over the weekend and the plant has resumed both milk processing and product delivery.

The company did not disclose how much production volume was affected.
