Saanich police are repeating warnings about leaving valuables in parked cars after a woman's keys were stolen from her vehicle and likely used later to rob her house.

The 24-year-old had parked at the base of Mount Douglas and gone for a hike. She came back to find her car's window smashed and her purse taken.

When she went home, it had also been broken into.

There was no sign of forced entry, so police believe her stolen ID was used to find out where she lived. Among the items missing were a laptop and a camera.
